Meet Mrs. Boff
Mrs. Boff and her family moved eight years ago from Connecticut.  This will be her 20th year of teaching.  Prior to joining the education field, she worked in the private sector in Human Resources.

Mrs. Boff received her Bachelor's  degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Western Connecticut State University. She also attended WCSU to obtain her Master's degree in Elementary Curriculum.

Mrs. Boff has been married for over 30 years.  She has two daughters.  Her oldest daughter who lives in Kentucky is a Social Worker while her youngest daughter is a Freshman at UNC Chapel Hill studying Physics.

During the school year, she loves to tell many stories about her dogs Rosie and Bella.  Rosie is a sweet little Yorkie Terrier mix and Bella who showed up on her doorstep in February 2018 is a Border Terrier mix.  Both dogs do silly things for Mrs. Boff to discuss and make great stories for when she is modeling how to write a personal narrative.

In Mrs. Boff's spare time, she likes to garden, read, cook, and travel.

Meet Mrs. Carpenter

Mrs. Carpenter has been teaching elementary school for 22 years now.  She has always taught at Oakwood, but has experience in 5th, 2nd and 3rd grades.  Of course, she thinks 3rd grade is the best!  Mrs. Carpenter loves to see her students grow, change, and learn so many new skills over the course of the year.

Mrs. Carpenter is  married and has two children - Allyson is 15 and Ryan is 10.   She enjoys spending time with her family - playing games, cooking, and shopping.  Her favorite thing to do to relax is to watch just about anything on the Food Network.

Meet Mrs Petoskey-White (Mrs. Petoskey)
Hi! My name is Anna Petoskey-White ( Mrs. P). I am so excited to begin my second year as an Oakwood Blue Jay!
I am originally from Columbia, South Carolina. I graduated Cum Laude with a B.A.in History from the University of South Carolina. Shortly after that I spent two years in Los Angeles CA. While in LA, I earned a Masters in Education and teacher certification from Pepperdine University.
Since then, I have accrued 12 years of teaching grades K, 2, 3, and 5. Most of those years were in 3rd grade in Guilford County. My husband’s job moved us to the Hickory area two years ago. I am looking forward to adding to my education repertoire and nesting in a new school home. I have two precious sons, Winter (5) Weeks (3), a step son Jack (12), and one silly beagle.
My family and I are lifelong learners and avid supporters of kindness and equity. As an educator, it is my goal to grow students academically while also nurturing their individuality.
This is going to be a great year!
